Star TV Ltd. Hot Star Office

: Our engagement with Star India on design of their upcoming Offices rolled out from a chance meeting on a flight.  Star TV was shifting their office from their current location and looking for a larger office in Bangalore.  VPCPL co-located in Mumbai and Bangalore managed the requirements of the client right from site selection.  Of the two or three shortlisted sites, comparison and recommendations were sent to client based on various parameters like space efficiency, location, floor heights & space adequacy.  Once the site selection was done, brainstorming sessions were held with the Client for creating the new office at the selected venue.  There were three distinct areas of the business, one technical / studio areas where editing, preview and production would take place, the second was the main office which house Star Regional Channels and third and the most recent Hot Star app based product office which had to be housed in this facility.  From a common reception, all the areas are accessed.

The Hot Star Office was an entirely a different challenge with the brief given to create an absolute trendy out of the box office with a lot of interactive spaces that encourage creativity, team work while screaming “Fun” all the way through.

In an expanse of 8000 Sqft there were only 80 Linear workstation planned.  With an open ceiling and suspended lights that follow the seating plan the task lighting was taken care of.  For that required lumens and ambience a myriad of light fittings were used in different shapes following the design pattern in circles, rings and amoebas.  The “Fun” work space was also interspersed with gaming areas.  Stepped seating, swings, circular seating, Media Scapes were interwoven to the layout with the skeletal globe meeting room being the highlight of the entire area. The work space in Hot Star was planned to never be the same at any given moment of time with numerous options available to perform similar tasks.

VPCPL and the entire team including the Client delivered the Project in 75 days made possible with intense interactions and communication within team members.
